The Opportunity Conference is going virtual!
Professional Day: November 17
We are still bringing you the same innovative and informative content, just in a new format. In order to keep everyone safe, and to accommodate your busy schedules, this year's Opportunity Conference will consist of pre-recorded sessions that can be accessed any time until the end of 2020! Earn continuing education credits from the comfort of your own home, on your own time. Once you sign up, you'll have to wait patiently until November 17th, when you'll be able to start accessing the content. At that point, you'll have a month and a half to watch and learn at your own pace.
The 2020 Opportunity Conference will feature educational content surrounding HIV Care, LGBTQ Health, and Aging Care. These sessions will address how to create a more supportive and affirming experience for patients, they'll identify the unique needs of LGBTQ and HIV positive clients, and will emphasize the importance of community resources.
The HIV Care sessions will dive into topics like TelePrEP, an HIV resource hub, HIV medication access, and sexual health resources.
The LGBTQ Health sessions will touch on helping trans patients reach their medical goals, legal battles for LGBTQ rights, and understanding the needs of LGBTQ youth.
The Aging Care sessions will explore new developments in the regulation of assisted living facilities, understanding Dementia and Alzheimer's through an LGBT and HIV lens, and the unique needs and experiences of the aging trans community.
This activity has been approved for continuing education credits and continuing medical education credits (CEU and CME) by the Minnesota Board of Social Work and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Every session includes closed captions.
Community Day: November 12 - 15
Join us for our first ever Opportunity Conference, Community Program!
Every year JustUs Health holds our annual Opportunity Conference, where healthcare professionals gather and learn about new ways to serve and provide care for people living with HIV, the LGBTQ+ community, and the aging community. This year we're mixing things up and creating specific community-focused opportunities. This event is for people living with HIV, people within the LGBTQ+ community, those aging at either of these intersections, and allies. Find out more about earning continuing education credits at the Professional Opportunity Conference series here.
The community programming is entirely free and will feature educational content posted right here, to Facebook. Join in the fun by watching, liking, commenting, and sharing. Participation will lead to opportunities to win prizes! Join with your community to dive into topics like trans-inclusive healthcare, how COVID-19 is affecting the LGBTQ community, HIV risk-reduction methods, sexual health, what aging looks like in the trans community, how to effectively talk with legislators, and more! Check back here for updates on speakers, topics, and prizes.
