Changes to Legal Services at JustUs Health

There have been some changes to Legal Services at JustUs Health. The Legal Intake Phone Line will no longer accept incoming calls or voicemails – all calls will now be answered by the Minnesota AIDSLine.

Clients with open legal matters with one of our attorneys should call that attorney directly or ask the “Minnesota AIDSLine” staff to help direct their call to the right person. The Minnesota AIDSLine can be reached at at 612–373–2437 (Metro) OR 800–248–2437 (Toll Free) during business hours on Monday through Friday 9am – 5pm.

  • All referrals to Legal Services must be done by completing the referral packet that can be found on our website (at the bottom of the Legal Services Page) or by calling the “Minnesota AIDSLine” at 612–373–2437 (Metro) OR 800–248–2437 (Toll Free) during business hours on Monday through Friday 9am – 5pm.

  • Referrals are only received by fax at the Legal Intake fax line (612) 373-9178.

    • All Service Providers including JustUs Health staff and external Social Worker, Case Managers etc are encouraged to download the referral packet from the website; and submit with required verifications. Service Providers should mark as “URGENT” any referral packets they submit that may have an urgent external deadline or needing immediate assistance due to a client’s health.

    • Clients are encouraged to connect to their case manager to get assistance in completing and submitting a referral. If a client does not have a case manager, “Minnesota AIDSLine” staff are available to help complete and submit a referral for Legal Services.

  • The current intake times (i.e. Mondays and Thursdays 9:30am – 2:30pm) will instead be used by our attorneys to respond to referrals we have received by fax.

THROUGH THE END OF MAY 2019, we will not take any new matters except emergencies and Social Security Disability under new funding that is LIMITED to people who are currently homeless. Please speak to a Minnesota AIDSLine staff before sending a referral.
