My name is Darrell Young, and I am a Mental Health Professional who provides constructive help to those who need it the most. I achieved my Master of Social Work at Walden University and I earned my BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of South Carolina. I am currently a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and hold a graduate certificate in Criminal Justice. I pride myself on being driven to help vulnerable populations.

My professional interest includes working with other professionals to alleviate barriers that oppressed people encounter. I look forward to advocating for marginalized groups in American society and those who usually are discriminated against and face personal difficulties in life. I specialize in analyzing and integrating these individuals to be perceived as part of our community and as citizens. My main priority will be to respect others regardless of their socio-economic status and help them resolve any difficulties they face to the best of my ability.

My practice includes a concentration on providing basic crisis intervention skills. Modalities include applying Psychological First Aid, using a strength-based approach, and mindfulness techniques. Establishing the safety of the client, reducing stress-related symptoms, providing rest and physical recuperation, and linking clients to critical resources and social support systems. I strive to support clients on their journey to recovery.

As a social worker, I know there will be challenges, but I also believe that the sacrifices are more than justified. Each person that I can remove from a negative situation is one more person that can be free to choose their own path in life. My passion for helping and supporting those who cannot do it themselves has driven me towards this profession my entire life. I look forward to being your ally and most importantly creating a healing environment that is conducive to positive behavioral health. I am thankful and excited to be a reliable advocate for you when it comes to accomplishing your goals.
