What does it mean to be gay, transgender, or queer? How do sexual and gender identities impact a client's mental and chemical health outcomes and needs? What can providers do to be more welcoming, sensitive and knowledgeable when working with LGBTQ+ clients?
In this workshop we will dive into LGBTQ+ identity, terminiology, reflect on our experiences, and learn tools to provide more culturally responsive care.
This training will provide:
- LGBTQ+ Identity and language guide
- Exploration of the differences between sex, gender, and sexuality
- Tips for individuals and institutions for providing more culturally responsive care
- Insight into personal identities and privilege and how these impact client car
Training Length: 8 hours (1 hour lunch break)
Continuing Education Credits: Approved for 7 continuing education units by the MN Board of Social Work and for LADCs.
