HIV and Aging - Online

In order to mantain social isolation while continuing to offer high quality courses, we will be offering this training online via ZoomYou will receive a link to join the zoom webinar at least 1 day before the start of the course. 


This 2 hour training is designed for individuals seeking to learn more about HIV and Aging. Older adults who have been living with HIV for many years AND who have recently been diagnosed with HIV face unique challenges and have distinct needs. This training will dive into epidemiology through the lens of a case manager with true stories related to HIV and aging. Learn about what makes aging with HIV unique, gain insight into how to work effectively with older clients living with HIV, work together to share resources and strategies for successful case management, and practice having conversations with older adults about their sexual health.

This training is for:

- Social workers

- Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors

- Medical providers (doctors, nurses, medical assistants)

- Public health professionals

- Anyone else looking to learn this information

This training is approved for 2 CEUs by the Minnesota Board of Social Work. You must attend the entire training to receive the CE hours.

Objectives for the course include:

  1. Learn data and epidemiology related to aging and HIV

  2. Explore the data through the lens of a case manager with specific case studies

  3. Brainstorm resources and strategies with a group project

  4. Practice having conversations with older adults about their sexual health using a sexual health risk assessment.
