Delaware Infectious Disease Clinic

DELAWARE INFECTIOUS DISEASE CLINIC provides HIV care, HIV testing, and counseling. Offers consultations for second opinions about treatment modalities and options including protocols for people who are not responding to HIV medications. Clinic has 14 adult infectious disease physicians and a pediatric infectious disease physician who sees HIV- positive children or children of HIV-positive mothers. Another clinic physician specializes in HIV-positive women, including pregnant women. Consultation and appointments available for HIV prevention services, such as, PrEP.

The Fairview-University Outpatient Pharmacy offers specialized pharmacy services for Delaware Infectious Disease Clinic patients including notifying patients when medications need refill, free medication shipment and assistance with coordinating insurance for payment of medications. The clinic also has an onsite Medication Therapy Manager, with specialized expertise to coordinate and consult about medications regiments. 

Potential clinic patients can schedule a free orientation visit to meet the health care team, see the clinic, learn about programs offered and answer questions about payment, billing, pharmacy services etc. Orientation visit does not require any registration and can be arranged quickly. Rapid HIV test is available and can be arranged confidentially. Walk-ins are welcome. 

Clinic provides HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) to health care professionals and others who have had a documented risk and exposure to HIV within the last 72 hours. After hours and weekend evaluation related to HIV high risk exposures should be accessed through Fairview-University Emergency Room.
