Status of JustUs Health Services and Programs

THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF THE CURRENT STATUS OF JUSTUS HEALTH SERVICES AND PROGRAMS:

In general, we ask our clients and partners to prioritize your health and healing. If you are not feeling well or you are concerned about seeking JustUs Health services due to risks to your health or the health of others, please work to reschedule your appointment or take advantage of the phone and/or internet-based services we are offering. In the event of a public health concern/emergency, please understand that the only way you may be able to meet with a JustUs Health service provider is via phone and/or internet-based practices.

Behavioral Health

Our clinical staff are currently taking appointments and seeing clients. We are working to provide as much support as possible to our communities during this pandemic. Behavioral Health Services is strongly encouraging our existing and new clients to utilize tele-health services for meetings with us. Telehealth can be accessed with a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone. We will continue to enroll new clients in services. In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1. If you are in need of immediate emotional support, please contact the Nation Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-6255.

Opportunity Conference 

Both the Community Day and Professional Day will not be held on the original dates of April 18 & 20 and have been postponed with plans to be re-scheduled at a later date. Details about this change will be communicated to conference registrants, presenters, and sponsors directly over the coming days.

TRANSFORMING CARE LUNCHEON

We are postponing our first annual JustUs Health Transforming Care Luncheon originally scheduled for May 12. We look forward to finding a new date for the luncheon and seeing all of you then.

Peer Support 

Risk-reduction, education dinners sponsored by our partners Gilead and Merck have been canceled at the request of sponsors. Other HERR Day Out and PositiveLink support services are maintaining their regular support group and event schedule. Per the new guidelines established by MDH, we will be limiting all peer support programs to no more than 10 people per session.

We are also encouraging people at risk of severe COVID-19 illness to view our Who's at higher risk? page. We continue to monitor the situation to determine if cancellations to individual events need to occur and will be communicated to program members directly.

Minnesota AIDSLine 

Service and hours of operation will not be impacted; all staff are able to respond remotely as needed to calls for information and support.

Transportation Services 

We continue to coordinate transportation for clients using tools that allow our staff to work remotely as needed.

Case Management

Our medical case managers can complete most work with clients over the phone or via the internet at remote locations.

Emergency Financial Assistance/Every Penny Counts 

Our financial assistance staff are committed to finding solutions to ensure that clients can continue to receive the financial support they need.

Health Insurance and Benefits Counseling 

Our benefits counselors and MNSure navigators have the flexibility of working with clients in-person or over the phone/via the internet.

MNsure is offering a special enrollment period (SEP) for qualified individuals who are currently without insurance in response to the potential growth of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. This SEP will allow uninsured individuals 30 days to enroll in health insurance coverage through MNsure. This SEP runs Monday, March 23 through Tuesday, April 21.

HIV Testing 

Due to recommendations on maintaining social distancing protocols as well as staffing limitations at our Territorial office, we have suspended on-site HIV testing at this location.

Mainline Syringe Exchange 

The mainline syringe exchange is operating under its normal schedule. Check out our website for details on our hours of operation.

Housing

Our housing staff can complete most work with clients over the phone or via the internet at remote locations.

Legal services

Our legal staff can complete most work with clients over the phone or via the internet at remote locations.

Education and Training

We are planning to hold currently scheduled courses at their originally scheduled days, times and locations. If any individual course is cancelled, participants will be notified at the email address they used during registration. We are continuing to review alternative learning tools like remote teaching. (See exception noted above for the Opportunity Conference.)

 

All other JustUs Health programs, services and events not explicitly mentioned above are planned to continue with no disruption. When or if the situation changes, this page will be updated, and subsequent email alerts will be sent as needed.
